Competition - OUTSIDER - Rammed Earth House 2021

Explanatory Note

The proposal is based on several decisions that determine: the functional disposition of the uses within the maximum surface established in the bases, the disposition of the structural elements, the overall shape of the building and its orientation, and the location on the ground; as well as the requirement to use rammed earth as a structural element.

The functional arrangement is organized along a circulatory axis with an east-west orientation. From the entrance it articulates the living area and the dining area, both facing south, the cooking area with openings to the north, and ends in the sleeping area facing south and the bathroom with opening to the north.

Practically in the center of the space we place a “Russian stove” to complement the caloric inputs supplied by the solar collectors and the direct gains through the openings facing south.

The building has a rectangular floor plan of 7.50 x 4.00 meters which includes the required functional uses and the perimeter wall of rammed earth. The gabled roof with an inclination of 45º, similar to the latitude corresponding to Dobrava, allows us to integrate the solar panels that produce hot water into the south-facing roof.

The structural wall is on the inside of the building, isolated from the outside in order to take advantage of the conditions of the rammed earth to accumulate the heat from the hot water that circulates through the conduits integrated into the ground, the direct solar contributions and the complementary contributions of the Russian stove.

On a continuous perimeter footing of lightly reinforced concrete we raise the 24 cm thick perimeter wall of rammed earth stabilized with binder where we will support the wooden trusses, all this is surrounded by the envelope formed by wood-insulating-wood sandwich panels and finished in chilla wood. The exterior carpentry will be made of wood and double or triple glazing.

We chose the location of the building, within the area indicated on the bases, in the south end free of trees in order to take advantage of the natural sunlight.

Urban and Architectural conceptual Design for Golootočkih žrtava Square in Podgorica

Golootočkih žrtava Square is defined by two important transport facilities - the bus station

and the railway station, therefore representing an important transport hub. The square is

divided into several smaller units by a road leading to the bus and train stations. The only

landscaped area is the one situated immediately to the front and the side of the bus station.

Other areas concerned by the project are of low utilisation and aesthetic value.

The buildings surrounding the area of the square have different construction periods and

vary in style and purpose, as well as architectural value. The most important building in

architectural terms is certainly the main bus station, which with its form and materialisation

has a significant impact on the identity of the entire space. Opposite the bus station there is

a group of individual housing structures, as well as the old Jusovača prison. These

structures are part of the old urban ensemble of Drač, however, they have retained little or

nothing of the original appearance, which has been changed mainly by unskilled additions

and repairs. On the east side, the area of the square is delineated by the main railway

station with related facilities.

PORTABLE WIRELESS RADIO TRANSMITTER

The apparent form of the portable wireless radio transmiter has been determined through a conscious-unconscious-rational process:

I started with a plasticine cylinder of the determined dimensions 70 x 20 mm. This cylinder has been manipulated as if you were using it while doing other things (reading, speaking ...). And finally I have applied a geometry compatible with its use.

The remote control is made up of four fundamental parts:

The top cover where the general control button, the light intensity buttons, the control the scenarios buttons and the LED light element.

The upper body that defines the space where the electronic components are placed.

The lower body with the battery compartment.

And the bottom cover with the access to the battery compartment.

The wall mount conforms to the shape of the remote control.

All parts of the remote control transmitter will be manufactured made of plastic material with injection molding technology.

Concurso - Urban Confluence - Global Iconic Landmark 2020

In the gateway of Silicon Valley, at theconfluence of two rivers, the world connects. San José Light Tower Corporation plans to build the most meaningful structure in the history of this hotbed of opportunities and present it as a gift to San José, Silicon Valley, and the world.

Around a central core of communication are four spirals growing in height reaching 200 feet tall.

The proposal is an analogy of the union, growth and development of the inhabitants who came from different places and settled in the valley.

Constructed with a structural steel-framed and lined with perforated metal sheet in different colors.

At night it becomes a delicate lamp that environmentally illuminates the park.

We place the tower next to the path on the other side of the tennis courts. Although the situation is not strictly indicated on the basis of the contest, we consider that it is the most appropriate so that the tower can be appreciated in all its dimensions.

At the top we place a viewpoint with views of the four cardinal points.

Photovoltaic panels will be placed on the terrace that will provide us with enough electrical energy to illuminate the tower at night.

THE FUTURE OF HOUSING

The objectives of the proposal are: to facilitate housing that can be adapted to the composition
family of its inhabitants, that the houses can be grouped into different types of buildings in order to create neighborhood groups and that can be built with a minimum number of different panels derived from the BCORE panel 12.00 x 2.00 x 0.15 m.

We define four types of housing based on the number of occupants and two types of blocks. One with a clear vocation to develop as an exempt tower and the other to group online.

The vertical panels of walls and walls will be 3.00 m. in the case of building height and 2.40 m. for buildings of one or two heights. These will be joined together and with the horizontal floors and ceilings by welding. The edges of the panels to be seen will be closed with a 1 mm steel plate.

The kitchens and bathrooms have the same composition for all homes.

The exterior and interior carpentry are reduced to the minimum essential window and door types.

If the geographical location is determined by the energy envelope, it will be completed by insulation, air chamber and external termination material (wood, ceramics, etc.). In any case, the vertical BCORE elements that determine the balconies will be left visible.

We develop T2 housing as an isolated single-family home with its transportable components within a volume of 12.20 x 2.43 x 2.59 m.

Concurso - Desall & MetaFin - Eco Park

MetaFin is looking for new ideas for the design of a new green area conceived for recreational
and aggregation purposes, that will host several structures and suitable equipment.

The park is organized into six articulated areas through a path that begins at the entrance and ends in the picnic area.

The other four areas are: youth games located at the end on the right; the amphitheater zone located at the end after a mound; the area of prefabricated booths for different uses organized around a square where we place the anti-shock rubber with sprinklers and the children's play area that is organized along the path in its margin left.

Three modules of toilets each located in the areas of youth games, the prefabricated booths and at the end of the children's games.

The whole enclosure is surrounded by vegetation.
