A family of four cachepots is proposed
of different sizes that can accommodate the different standard types of cultivation pots.

The shape of the cachepots is generated by two octagonal prisms of different dimensions rotated one from the other 22º 30' and joining their vertices together, which defines another prism with triangular surfaces.

The generated form allows us to apply a variety of colors with two alternatives (monochrome and two-color), to produce them through moldings in one piece or in two different ones later joined by the appropriate technique (thermal or chemical).

For the standard colors proposed, the RAL Plastics P1 colors are followed.

We differentiate four cachepots by their height of 100, 120, 140 and 160 mm. tall for each of the standard cultivation pots.

The proposed material is recycled polypropylene (PP) 1.5 mm. thick manufactured by injection moulding.

Conceptual design

The flight of some seagulls flying over the dunes is the inspiring base of the design. The decisions made to formalize the design were manifested visually throughout the process, which has led to progressive modifications that have tried to avoid possible contradictions between the required functions, the available space, the structure and the natural environment.

Description of materialization

We started from the decision to place a single playing field, surround it with stands and place the required functions on two levels. All the functions are related to each other through horizontal circulation steps in each of the levels and these to each other through stairs and an elevator. Both levels have access directly from the outside.

In the northern sector, the main general accesses and the secondary ones are located on the east and west sides.

The total capacity of 2746 spectators, of which at least 54 in a special VIP area,20 in a centrally placed area for journalists, as well as 140 in a separate area for visiting fans on the east stand.The main camera platform (3x9m), 3 commentary positions anda control room with a view of the entire stadium.

The car parks, pedestrian areas, the parking buses and vehicles for players and oficials, parking for VIP guests, bicycle parking are located around the complex.

The supporting structure of the stands is made by means of reinforced concrete porticos. The roof structure is made up of folded sheets made of CLT (Cross Laminated Timber).

The solar panels responsible for producing electricity and domestic hot water are located on the southern slope of the dune that surrounds the enclosure.

The vertical closings of the façade are formed based on stone masonry walls.

The rest of the materials will be the usual ones in the area.

Conceptual design

A unique, identifiable, discreet and useful enclosure, these were the inspiring principles throughout the design. I cannot rationally express many of the decisions made to formalize the design, since they were manifested visually throughout the process, which has given rise to progressive modifications that have tried to avoid possible contradictions between the required functions, the available space or the structure.

Description of materialization

Two similar volumes joined together by two equal planes on their north and south sides. Each of the volumes contains the functions that were indicated in the competition rules.

The supporting structure of the stands is made through reinforced concrete porticos. The supporting structure of the roof is formed by a ribbed semi-vault topped at both ends by quarter-round domes, made of CLT (Cross laminated timber).

The solar panels responsible for producing electricity and domestic hot water are integrated into the self-supporting metal panels.

The vertical façade enclosures are formed based on horizontal wooden slats, glass blocks and stone masonry walls.

The rest of the materials will be the usual ones in the area.
