Competition - Desall & Shenzhen Lead Opto - Solar Outdoor Light Collection 2020

PYRAMID

Practical considerations have guided the steps in the design of the lamp: compact element to be placed on different supports and with a simple design.

The lamp frame is a 330 x 220 mm rectangular base pyramid with 296.2 mm edges.

In it the different components of it are coupled: solar panel (270x170 mm), smart PIR sensor, lamp LED 10 w, sensor for switch with remote control, center controler and battery.

The proposal is completed with the two types of columns, for the garden light and the column light.

Main materials: ABS and PC

Competition - Desall & Tomasella - Night Collection Design - 2020

 BUTTERFLY

Practical considerations have guided the steps in the design of the bed: clean comfortably under the bed, sit comfortably on top and be able to do it without great effort, avoid the danger of bevelled corners ...

This leads us to a rounded shape and a continuity of shapes. The headboard has been emphasized with a marquetry panel and that is reproduced on the chest of drawers and bedside tables as well as the profile of the bed frame.

The chest of drawers and side tables are derived from the shape of the bed. Height of the legs, front perimeter frame, marquetry of the drawers and the shape of the handles.

The material used will only be wood with standardized profiles.

Competition - OUTSIDER - Rammed Earth House 2021

Explanatory Note

The proposal is based on several decisions that determine: the functional disposition of the uses within the maximum surface established in the bases, the disposition of the structural elements, the overall shape of the building and its orientation, and the location on the ground; as well as the requirement to use rammed earth as a structural element.

The functional arrangement is organized along a circulatory axis with an east-west orientation. From the entrance it articulates the living area and the dining area, both facing south, the cooking area with openings to the north, and ends in the sleeping area facing south and the bathroom with opening to the north.

Practically in the center of the space we place a “Russian stove” to complement the caloric inputs supplied by the solar collectors and the direct gains through the openings facing south.

The building has a rectangular floor plan of 7.50 x 4.00 meters which includes the required functional uses and the perimeter wall of rammed earth. The gabled roof with an inclination of 45º, similar to the latitude corresponding to Dobrava, allows us to integrate the solar panels that produce hot water into the south-facing roof.

The structural wall is on the inside of the building, isolated from the outside in order to take advantage of the conditions of the rammed earth to accumulate the heat from the hot water that circulates through the conduits integrated into the ground, the direct solar contributions and the complementary contributions of the Russian stove.

On a continuous perimeter footing of lightly reinforced concrete we raise the 24 cm thick perimeter wall of rammed earth stabilized with binder where we will support the wooden trusses, all this is surrounded by the envelope formed by wood-insulating-wood sandwich panels and finished in chilla wood. The exterior carpentry will be made of wood and double or triple glazing.

We chose the location of the building, within the area indicated on the bases, in the south end free of trees in order to take advantage of the natural sunlight.

Urban and Architectural conceptual Design for Golootočkih žrtava Square in Podgorica

Golootočkih žrtava Square is defined by two important transport facilities - the bus station

and the railway station, therefore representing an important transport hub. The square is

divided into several smaller units by a road leading to the bus and train stations. The only

landscaped area is the one situated immediately to the front and the side of the bus station.

Other areas concerned by the project are of low utilisation and aesthetic value.

The buildings surrounding the area of the square have different construction periods and

vary in style and purpose, as well as architectural value. The most important building in

architectural terms is certainly the main bus station, which with its form and materialisation

has a significant impact on the identity of the entire space. Opposite the bus station there is

a group of individual housing structures, as well as the old Jusovača prison. These

structures are part of the old urban ensemble of Drač, however, they have retained little or

nothing of the original appearance, which has been changed mainly by unskilled additions

and repairs. On the east side, the area of the square is delineated by the main railway

station with related facilities.

PORTABLE WIRELESS RADIO TRANSMITTER

The apparent form of the portable wireless radio transmiter has been determined through a conscious-unconscious-rational process:

I started with a plasticine cylinder of the determined dimensions 70 x 20 mm. This cylinder has been manipulated as if you were using it while doing other things (reading, speaking ...). And finally I have applied a geometry compatible with its use.

The remote control is made up of four fundamental parts:

The top cover where the general control button, the light intensity buttons, the control the scenarios buttons and the LED light element.

The upper body that defines the space where the electronic components are placed.

The lower body with the battery compartment.

And the bottom cover with the access to the battery compartment.

The wall mount conforms to the shape of the remote control.

All parts of the remote control transmitter will be manufactured made of plastic material with injection molding technology.
