CULTURAL CENTER

The building is located at the top of the hill, between 252.00 and 254.00 heights, adapted to the level curves so it is rotated 25° to the north.
The volume is inscribed within an area of 13x13 meters and consists of three levels. In the basement (or semi-basement) are the spaces for storage, office and toilets. On the ground floor is situated the access to the building by a staircase; just get inside we find a distribution space from which we have access to the conference room, audiovisual and meetings; a straight staircase leads to the first floor and another gives us access to the basement mentioned above and community housing. On the first floor is located a space for exhibitions, workshops, etc. definitely a multipurpose space.
Community housing is formed by a common space for a living, dining and kitchen, a bathroom and two bedrooms sleeping up to two people each in bunk beds.
The structure is made by stone walls in the basement and the ground floor and finished in stucco on the first floor, and concrete floors.
The woodwork is wood framed with concrete frames or steel, as is situated in an area with exposed stone or stucco, which act as transition material between the hollow and solid.
The interior finishes are stucco walls and ceilings, exposed stone walls, polished stone in the areas of the ground floor and first floor and concrete in the basement.
The building is completed with the installation of solar panels to produce hot water and photovoltaic cells and wind turbines to produce electricity.

On a grid of 2438 x 2438 mm. four modules standard type 1 (12192 x 2438 x 2896 mm.) are available. Two of them make up the living (hall, living, kitchen-dining, laundry and storage or toilet) and two, located above previous and rotated 90 degrees, are the sleeping area (bedrooms, bathroom, toilet and closets).

On the uppermost deck put solar collectors (thermal and photovoltaic).
The arrangement of the modules enables the home has cross ventilation and outdoor spaces are differential use while having a continuous flow.

Absence/presence

ARCHITECTURE PAVILLION
When Structuralists and Post-Structuralists make the apparently outrageous claim that every object is both a presence and an absence, they mean that an object is never fully there – it is there to the extent that it appears before us, but is not there in so far as its being is determined by its relation to the whole system of which it is part, a system that does not appear to us.- Donald Palmer.

Sorpresas

ARMCHAIR 111013
Miguel Delibes.

Globalization

DESK CHAIR 111008
Globalizaton variously signifies the hegemony of a worldwide capitalist system on the economic plane; the superseding of the primacy of the nation-state by transnational arrangements, both formal and informal, on the political one; the emergence of new, networked information and communication instrumentalities on the technological one; and the advent of an increasingly homogeneous, consumer oriented lifestyle and mentality on the cultural one.- Joan Ockman.

The new artistic sensibility of the twentieth century has not only felt the beauty of the machine, but has also taken cognizance of its unlimited expressive possibilities for the arts.- Theo van Doesburg.

Linguistics

CAMA 111106
Linguistics is also radical because of the way it seems to overthrow realism (the view that there is a real world out there that can be known by the human mind) and to replace it with a linguistic relativism (what we can know is the system of concepts generated by the arbitrary structures of language).- Donal Palmer.
