MINIMAL SHELTER SPACE
The functions that are considered are those of sleeping and occasionally reading, studying,
meditating ... Possible relationships between people will be carried out in the two-meter-wide
spaces for access to the modules and in the rest of the areas of the sports center enabled to their
efects.
The private cubic space of 2 x 2 x 2 m for individual use is solved with four vertical partitions of the
same dimensions, joined together by means of a screw mechanism to facilitate assembly and
disassembly, one of which differs by having a sliding door, the tatami floor rests directly on the
pavement of the sports hall and is covered with fabric for the purpose of visual privacy from the
height of the stands.
Each one of the enclosing partitions is made up of a frame made up of three vertical slats and two
horizontal slats of 35 x 75 mm wood glued together to half wood and two 5 mm thick laminated
wood panels glued to the slats. The entrance screen is basically the same as the other three with
the difference that it has two 35 x 35 mm wooden slats that act as a guide for the sliding door that
is formed with a 35 x 35 mm wooden slat frame that supports a 5mm laminated wood panel.
The floor is formed with two 35 mm thick tatami mats and the ceiling with a fabric.
Each of the modules disassembled and packed for delivery has dimensions of 1,965 x 2,000 x 210
mm.
Two arrangements of the modules are considered on the surface of the 20 x 32 m sports court.
One attaching the modules along the longest side which allows us to accommodate 84 modules,
the other along its shorter side that allows us to accommodate 80 modules. The perimeter are
zones of circulation of accesses to the different services.
The estimated cost to manufacture each module is 30,000 JPY.
